Speaker E: Today we're diving deep into DJI Flip, which has certainly caught attention with its unconventional design and promise of effortless flight. Speaker E: But does it live up to the hype? Speaker B: At first I thought this drone was a little bit of a gimmick and I was unsure of what to think of it when I first saw it leaked online. Speaker F: I thought this was just going to get destroyed in everything. Speaker F: It didn't. Speaker E: DJI Flip's design is a major departure from the norm.

Speaker B: Which is more beginner like make it so simple to use, you don't even need a controller. Speaker A: Yes. Speaker C: So you can use a DJI Flip. Speaker B: Without a remote control. Speaker A: When you transport the drone like this, when it's collapsed, and then when you want to start it up, all you do is flip out the propellers. Speaker A: Just like that, the drone will automatically turn on and now you'll be able to get up and flying.

Speaker D: Now, in terms of vision sensors, you have front facing vision sensors so it won't run into something flying forward. Speaker A: But there's no sign of backwards or omnidirectional cameras.

Speaker E: Let's delve into the camera specs, flight performance and see how it handles the elements. Speaker G: DJI Flip has a 1 over 1.3 inch CMOS sensor, while the DJI Neo has a smaller 1 over 2 inch image sensor. Speaker G: A larger sensor on the DJI Flip means it can capture more light, which leads to better image quality. Speaker D: This is the same sensor that you get on the DJI Mini 4 Pro.

Speaker B: But the cool thing is you also get full 4k up to 100 frames a second in slow motion, which means you can get some really decent slow motion shots. Speaker F: And unlike the Neo, it's a three axis gimbal. Speaker F: And just like the Neo, you have options on how to fly it. Speaker F: This thing is fully autonomous. Speaker F: It can take off and land in the palm of your hand.

Speaker A: When you come down to storage, we do have a slot here for a Micro SD card and internal storage. Speaker A: We only have 2 gigs internal, but. Speaker B: If you're using the Mic Mini or Mike 2 system with a phone, or you're just using your phone, then you get this great sounding audio directly into the files here and directly onto the files of the drone so you can match them up perfectly.
3:35 Speaker E: DJI has packed in a lot of automated features to make flying and filming a breeze. Speaker E: But how do these features hold up in the real world? Speaker E: Let's hear what our reviewers discovered. Speaker A: All you simply have to do is press a couple of these Quick Shot buttons here up top to select which Quick shot you want to perform that feature. Speaker A: Now they brought over to the DJI Flip so you have a screen here at the very front which will then show you which Quick shots or Quick Shot mode you're currently in.

Speaker C: And the cool thing is when you're done, you literally just stand still for three seconds and then the drone will come right to you and land in your hand. Speaker F: You have the option of connecting it to a smartphone, allowing you to change settings and get a preview of what you're filming, but also use your smartphone as a virtual controller in Addition to.
4:32 Speaker G: Video, photo and quick shot modes, the DJI Flip also offers extra shooting options like Master Shot, AEB Burst, Hyperlapse and Pano, which are not available on the DJI Neo. Speaker B: Now, DJI says you're going to get 31 minutes. Speaker B: That is not the case in most real world conditions. Speaker B: That's like, I don't know. Speaker B: In the most perfect pristine conditions known to man. Speaker B: I've been getting 12 to 15 minutes, 18 minutes depends on what I'm doing.
5:00 Speaker A: You have fingers that are curled like this. Speaker A: You definitely can stick your finger in there and you might get it clipped a little bit by that propeller. Speaker A: So you either want to have it really flat on your palm like this, or you can just do what I've been doing. Speaker A: That's kind of using a little pinch. Speaker E: The big question, how does the Flip stack up against its rivals, especially the Mini 4 Pro? Speaker E: Let's see how they compare in real world use. Speaker D: So overall, for a small compact drone that can get some good shots of yourself when you're out filming, I would personally choose this one over the DJI Neo just because the footage looks so much better.
5:32 Speaker E: Well, if you thought the Neo is. Speaker B: A good idea but just felt was. Speaker C: A bit too basic, the Flip is what you're after. Speaker C: Probably. Speaker F: This is kind of a hybrid drone. Speaker F: It's kind of similar to one of the miniseries drones and the DJI Neo. Speaker F: Except with this one we actually have a three axis gimbal. Speaker F: So we're going to have really good. Speaker A: Stabilization when it comes out to flight time. Speaker A: We have a rated 31 minutes on the flip here. Speaker A: On the DJI Neo we have about 18 minutes. Speaker A: The DJI Mini 4 Pro can get 34 minutes on the lower capacity battery.
5:59 Speaker C: With those bumpers all the way around the propellers. Speaker C: It just simply has more wind resistance at the identical weight of the Mini 4 Pro. Speaker C: When it comes to obstacle avoidance, these drones are quite different. Speaker C: The Flip only has sensors on the front. Speaker C: However it is a LIDAR sensor, so it's going to work in much darker conditions, which is great, While as the Mini 4 Pro has omnidirectional obstacle avoidance in all directions.
6:24 Speaker D: However, if you are someone who is interested in FPV flying but you're just getting started, then the Neo is probably the drone that you're going to want to go for, so you could fly it in all the different ways. Speaker E: Now let's talk about the price. Speaker E: Is the Flip a budget friendly gem or just Another expensive gadget? Speaker G: DJI Flip is more expensive, costing around $439 for the standalone version and $779 for the fly.
6:49 Speaker A: More combo that comes out to I would say it kind of sits in between these two drones right here, the Mini 4 Pro and the Air 3s, but when it comes down to price of the Flip, it sits right here in between the Mini 3 and the Mini 4 Pro. Speaker A: The Neo by itself comes in at $199. Speaker C: If you're in the market for a new drone and are deciding between the flip and the Mini 4 Pro, I would have to recommend the flip over the Mini 4 Pro purely because of how big that price difference is.

Speaker G: If you're looking for a lightweight and compact drone that's easy to carry and ready to fly, the DJI Neo is an excellent choice if you already have.
