0:00 Speaker A: Hi everybody. Speaker A: I'm Sanda and I believe in technology. Speaker A: In this video, we'll not be taking a look at any technology per se, but I want to share the journey that I've been on, trying to find the best daily work bag in order to protect the devices that I have with me. Speaker A: Let's take a closer look. Speaker A: After doing my research, I narrowed it down to two bags that tick all of the boxes on paper.
0:25 Speaker A: At least one of them is the Bellroy slim work bag and the other one is water filled Ziip laptop brief. Speaker A: Both of them very strong. Speaker A: Let's see how they compare. Speaker A: First of all, let's take a look at the dimensions. Speaker A: Outside. Speaker A: The water filled bag is slightly smaller. Speaker A: It's about half an inch or about 3 centimeters lower and also about 2 inches narrower, so about 5 centimeters. Speaker A: And that really changes the way it looks as well.
0:51 Speaker A: In terms of depth, they're about the same, both two and a half inches. Speaker A: And that also results in how much they can fit. Speaker A: And the water fill bag can fit about 6.9 liters and the Bellroy bag about 7.7 liters. Speaker A: The size also results in weight. Speaker A: While the Bellroy bag is about 705 grams, then the water fill is about 690 grams. Speaker A: It's tiny so you don't really feel it. Speaker A: So it's not really a difference for me. Speaker A: Now let's talk about materials that they've used in these bags.
1:18 Speaker A: While Bellroy bag is using the soft woven polyester, which makes this kind of a cottony feel even. Speaker A: It looks very nice, feels very nice and soft. Speaker A: On the other hand, it carries a lot of dust particles and very easily attracts dust to it, so it's not that easy to clean. Speaker A: On the other hand, water fill bag is using a ballistic nylon, which is a more of a traditional tech bag where it's very easy to clean and very durable. Speaker A: And while I like the Bellroy material more, I have to give it to water fill just because it's much easier to clean, it doesn't attract dust and it seems to be more durable.
1:50 Speaker A: It even though the Bellroy material feel is nicer for the handle, which is also important when you carry it day to day. Speaker A: Bellroy is using a thick leather handle, natural full grain leather, which is really not so nice in the beginning as it's very hard, but I'm sure it will soften up over time. Speaker A: On the other hand, the water filled bag is great out of the box. Speaker A: Both of those bags also come with removable padded straps, while the strap on the Bellroy doesn't look very nice and doesn't seem very comfortable and actually isn't either when you're carrying it day to day.
2:20 Speaker A: The strap on Waterfield looks very nice and has got some thick padding on it. Speaker A: So if you're using it more of as a shoulder bag, definitely Waterfield has an edge here. Speaker A: Now let's take a look at the bags inside as well. Speaker A: The Bellroy has a very nice zip up top which you can open and close on both sides. Speaker A: Inside it's got a separate laptop compartment that has a very nice magnetic closure. Speaker A: And it's also got two separate pockets for your cables and your adapters to separate from the rest of the bag.
2:49 Speaker A: Bellroy has also got two pockets outside one which is using a zip where you can put your smaller items like your pen and your phone and there's loads of space and great opening for it. Speaker A: On the other side they also have a button closure pocket where you can put larger things. Speaker A: And to be honest, the only challenge on that side is if you put something larger in there, it's gonna kind of not close properly or fully and look bulky. Speaker A: When looking inside the water fill bag, it looks very sturdy.
3:17 Speaker A: Similarly, you have a zip up top. Speaker A: This time it's completely waterproof, but you can also open it both sides. Speaker A: You can open it fully if you go to a TSA check in an airport to lay it flat so that you don't have to take out your laptop. Speaker A: But similarly you have a compartment for your laptop. Speaker A: They've been very smart in leaving the top open so you can use your charger. Speaker A: And on the other side they have a pad, similarly two pads for your cables and and your adapters.
3:43 Speaker A: They also have a small pocket inside here for your pen or Apple pencil. Speaker A: On the outside they only have one pocket on one side and it's quite small where you can only really fit your phone and maybe a handful of cables. Speaker A: And that's about it. Speaker A: On the other side you have something that is travel friendly so you can have this handle strap where using your hand luggage so you can strap it onto there and it's not going to fall off. Speaker A: That's something that you're not going to have on Bellroy, but.
4:08 Speaker A: But on the other hand, Bellroy has more pockets. Speaker A: So what's been my experience day to day, I really enjoyed using the water fill bag. Speaker A: It doesn't look bulky even if I put all of my stuff in there. Speaker A: The only challenge is the opening of the zip which I wish would have a larger opening and you can easily open too much so the bag will fall apart in a way, but I really haven't had too many issues with that. Speaker A: On the other hand, the Bellroy bag can definitely fit more and much easily, but at the same time it also looks more bulky, especially when you use the external pocket.
4:38 Speaker A: For example, for using my water bottle on the overall looks and feels, I much rather like the water filled bag which just looks more manly. Speaker A: On the Bellroy bag due to the dimensions as well just being slightly higher and slightly wider, it feels and looks more feminine, which I'm not a huge fan of. Speaker A: There's a significant difference also in price. Speaker A: Where Bellroy is costing $189, the waterfill bag costs $229. Speaker A: The difference could also come from that the waterfill bags are designed and made in San Francisco while Bellroy bags are made usually in Asia, in India or China.
5:11 Speaker A: So so to conclude, I think you really have to see them yourself and see how it's going to fit your day to day. Speaker A: In my case and I think for most of the people who are traveling more and don't want to have too many things with them, the water filled bag really works great and looks great and feels great overall. Speaker A: On the other hand, the Bellroy bag also is very high quality bag. Speaker A: I think it's more geared towards women than men, but that's just my personal opinion.
5:36 Speaker A: Thank you very much for watching. Speaker A: I hope you enjoyed this video. Speaker A: If like you, if you did, please give it a thumbs up. Speaker A: Let me know in the comments which one is your favorite work bag and subscribe to the channel for future videos on tech. Speaker A: Thanks again and hope to see you next time.
